Vitamins

Our range of vitamins is growing. You can read below what their main benefits are.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is necessary for the proper development of the central nervous system, DNA and protein synthesis and hematopoiesis. This vitamin is produced by bacteria and other single-celled organisms in the digestive track of animals and in the soil. Bacteria of the large intestine of human can produce B12 as well, but our body is not able to use this one. Different amounts of B12 occurs in fermented products and freshwater algae, but most of them are so-called B12 analogues  and therefore they cannot be considered as a direct source of this vitamin. It prolonged deficiency can lead to gait disorders and irreversible damage of the nervous system. Therefore it is necessary to supplement vitamin B12.

Vitamin C

Acerola – cherry is one of the fruits with the highest content of vitamin C or ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is a very strong antioxidant.   It supports hematopoiesis and immunity. Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron from plant sources into the human body and its deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation in the body.  Our body is not able to produce this vitamin on its own, therefore it has to take it from the diet. Forky’s 100% acerola powder contains 25% natural vitamin C. In addition, it retains other valuable substances contained in this fruit and thus becomes a more suitable than the synthetic form of this vitamin.

Vitamin D3

The main source of vitamin D is sunlight. In the winter, when the body is exposed to vitamin D deficiency, it is necessary to supplement this vitamin. It supports metabolism, muscle activity, quality of teeth and bones. One of its importance is in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestine into the blood. Vitamin D maintains the optimal value of these minerals and helps transport them to the bones. Numerous studies have shown that low levels of this vitamin are associated with higher rates of depression.
